The BNP has to oust the ruling Awami League by participating in the elections, said Agriculture Minister and Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque.
"They will not be able to bring down the Awami League no matter how much agitation and terrorism they do. BNP has to oust Awami League by
participating in the elections. There is no other option," he said while talking to reporters after planting alm saplings in Sohagpur of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail on Friday.
The minister urged the BNP to take part in the upcoming elections so that the polls could be held in a free, fair and impartial manner.
"We want to see whether the people of this country are with the pro-people leader Sheikh Hasina, whether they are confident in the ideals of
Bangabandhu," he added.
He firmly believed that Awami League has won the trust of the people by running the country continuously for the past 15 years.
Local lawmaker Khan Ahmed Shuvo, Mirzapur Upazila unit Awami League President Mir Sharif, general secretary and local leaders and activists were present on the occasion.
